Artist Statement

I am a mixed media artist who works in animation, print, illustration, sculpture, installation, performance art, video, and sound. The master of my hand is an old bound up starved child who’s trying to survive in an adult body and make sense of all the blows, beauty, and despair, combining the theme’s of childhood, femininity, longing, the grotesque, humor, and horror.

I draw in a style akin to children’s book illustration, but with adult themes of depression, sexuality, and lost innocence. I use old children’s toys, found objects, and hand sculpted figures to create my own stop motion animations and sculptures. I create two dimensional animations in traditional and digital media.
